Brrrrring! Is that a school bell I hear?

Meg's first day of school was yesterday, today is her first full day. Ellie starts tomorrow with a half day. Everything is going fairly smoothly so far. Meg's teacher, Mrs. Nicholl seems great. Dynamic and fun - she's from Texas and has a twang. Sounds like she's been at the school for several years. We (Ellie and I) just came from meeting her teacher. You know how they say first impressions are everything? Well, my first impression of her wasn't the greatest. She's new to the school, but not to teaching. Her name is long and hard to pronounce (forget spelling it!), but told us we could call her "Mrs. C". We'll have to wait and see how that pans out, I'm hoping she's just not good with first impressions. :/

Abbie and I are going to have so much time to ourselves! It's going to be rather quiet and lonely around here during the day and we'll both be missing her big sisters.

Going to be a busy week

Yesterday was Meghen's surgery. She was so brave. Never shed even one tear, she was a bit nervous, but she was a real trooper. She was rather comical in recovery. She had no inhabitions, she was just talking! For those of you (and most of you do) who know Meghen, you know she doesn't really do that. It was great. The procedure went fantastic. It was fast, she was in and out of there in about 3 hours.

Today I'm taking Meg to the Orthodontist. Her pendulum is coming out. She's let everyone know that she'll be eating only popcorn and gum for the next two days (those are both forbidden with the appliance in her mouth). On Thursday they will replace the pendulum with another appliance to stretch her crossbite and overbite.

Last night at dinner Abbie said grace. As is the custom in our family when we all sit down for dinner together Bob says "(Insert Ellie or Meghen's name here) would you please say grace?" and then they do. Last night at dinner Bob said "Abbie, would you say grace?" and it sounded kind of like "God is great. God is great. Thank you for food. Amen." Pretty cool, huh?
