A week and counting

Next Thursday the girls go back to school. The last two weeks we have had nothing going on at all, no appointments, no classes, no running around. It's just been the 5 of us hanging out. Bob has been so bored, but I know how crazy the fall will be and I'm really trying to enjoy the loafing.

Here are a few terms from the current "Abbie Dictionary":

Hackups - hiccups
Sushi Bar - Hershey Bar

We went to Meijer and after buying a chocolate bar Abbie declared that she had the hackups. Then, she asked "Can I eat my sushi bar? It will help with the hackups." *sigh* Soon, she'll be older and all of these cute things she says will be gone. Although, every now and again, Meghen will try to pronounce something she has read and Bob and I will have a chuckle. Bravo to Meg for always trying to incorporate her new vocabulary!

Linda took all of us for a weekend trip to Great Wolf Lodge a couple of weekends ago. The girls had a blast, that place is really cool. Not enough for the grownups to do - no bar, no lounge and the food sucked, but the kids really did have a fantastic time. The dogs got kennel cough from their stay at the kennel while we were there, so now we're dealing with the constant coughing. They seem so miserable! "HONK HONK"

Just a month left . . .

Actually, there is just under a month of summer vacation left. It always seems to fly by. The fall, while my favorite season, is always so hard because the girls go back to school and I miss them! This year could be really hard, I mean, my baby is even starting school *sigh*.

We took a short 3 day camping trip to Herrick Park with Holli and Anne last week. They had never been tent camping before, so it was quite the experience. Holli and I had a blast - oh yeah, and the kids had fun, too. ;)

We're starting to fall into a semi-regular summer routine now. Of course, this is Bob's last week of class and everything will switch all around when he's home all day starting next week. The girls are enjoying the summer, although they haven't been spending much time outside. To hear Meghen say it "It's just so buggy." and really, it is buggy. I guess that comes with living in the sticks, huh?

Abbie has started the official countdown to her birthday and school starting. Every day she asks "How many days until fall?" Then she'll dance around and sing "32 (or whatever the number is) days until my birthday and kindergarten!!". She also makes sure everytime we go to Walmart that I fully understand what it is exactly she wants for her birthday. She doesn't want any confusion on that matter.

Ellie lost her front tooth! Well, actually, I yanked it (I'm SUCH a bad Mom!). I really thought it was ready to come out, but once I started pulling I realized it probably wasn't quite ready. It was very loose, but it was still firmly attached. Anyhow, she looks so cute missing that front tooth. The other front tooth is loose too, but you can bet I won't be pulling it. As slowly as she loses her teeth, it won't suprise me if she is singing "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth." by the time that other tooth comes out.
