So, yeah...

Dad's actually blogging for the girls, woo hoo!

Meanwhile, his blog sits, not updated for 22 months...

Anyways, the girls had a really really cool moment this Thursday. On the way to school they were listening to The Moose. On this particular day, The American Red Cross was set up outside the station studios raising funds to assist with the victims of hurricane Katrina. The radio station is just down the street from the girls' school.

We've just instituted a new allowance policy in which the girls are now required to save 10% of their allowances as well as give 10% to a charity of their choice. The girls begged Angie to take them to the station so they could give their charity money to the ARC. Meghen is especially the hero in this one, because she wanted to donate not just 10% but ALL of this week's allowance to hurricane relief. Unfortunately stopping at the radio station would have made them late for school, so Angie refused. Undaunted, Meghen demanded that Angie drive over to the station after dropping them off at school to give their donations. A very proud mom agreed.

When Angie got to the station to make the donation, Jim Biggins from their morning show was moved by the story enough to mention all three girls' names on the air. I was able to record the announcement, and once Abbie heard it she was extremely excited that she was now "a star."
